Recognize Acid-Base Balance Disorders in the Body

The body is the best reminder if there is a health problem in it. The body will give signals that the owner should be aware of, not ignore.

A general example, if the lips are dry, it can be a sign that the body lacks water content and hydration. For this reason, it is advisable to drink water or eat foods that contain a lot of water.

Then what if the body has acid and alkaline balance disorder? This condition occurs if the levels of both in the blood are imbalanced. Therefore, it can cause the performance of some organs to be not optimal. This can result in health problems.

Acid-base balance disorders are acidosis and alkalosis. Both are divided into two namely respiratory and metabolic.

Acidosis is when acid levels in the body are too high, while alkalosis is when alkaline levels in the body are too high. Of course, both are not good for health. The respiratory type is influenced by breathing, which is related to the lungs, while the metabolic type is directly related to the kidneys.

The most common symptoms include dizziness, headache, nausea, decreased appetite, dry mouth, chest pain, and so on.

Both conditions can be minimized by consuming enough water, avoiding alcoholic and caffeinated drinks, and maintaining blood sugar levels.
